What a time it is to be a Filipino volleyball fan! If you’ve been keeping tabs on the buzzing local volleyball scene, you’ve probably heard the big news — our national pride, the players of Alas Pilipinas, are officially back in action in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Invitational tournament. Yes, you read that right! And in true fashion, they’ve returned with an explosive start that’s got fans cheering every set.

The Wait Is Over — They’re Back!

After months of focusing on their national duties and representing the Philippines in the SEA V.League (where they bagged bronze yet again – talk about consistency!), Alas Pilipinas players have now been greenlighted to suit up for their respective PVL clubs. The announcement came straight from PVL president Ricky Palou, who shared that the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) finally gave the thumbs-up for these stars to rejoin their club teams.

First to Take the Court

No time was wasted. As soon as the clearance came through, fans witnessed an exciting return. Alleiah Malaluan, one of the most anticipated rookies and the 9th overall pick in the 2025 PVL Draft, officially made her pro debut for PLDT. And let’s not forget libero Jennifer Nierva, whose defensive brilliance is now shining for Chery Tiggo. This was all unfolding at the Philsports Arena, much to the delight of the lively crowd.

Not All Suited Up… Yet

While some stars have already made their presence felt, others like PLDT’s Dell Palomata and Cignal’s Vanie Gandler and Dawn Catindig are still waiting for their turn. So don’t worry, if your favorite Alas player hasn’t hit the court yet — it’s just a matter of time.

What’s Next for the National Team?

Even though the PVL action is heating up, the national team’s commitment is far from over. Palou, who also happens to be PNVF vice president, confirmed that training never stops. Despite returning to their clubs, the players will continue gearing up for the big one — the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand this December.

“We’re working on a schedule that allows them to train with the national team three times a week,” Palou said during a press briefing. “That’s the plan during the PVL Reinforced Conference, which wraps up in November. After that, we’re exploring the possibility of overseas training, too.”

The Bigger Picture for Philippine Volleyball

Everything happening right now — from allowing players dual roles in club and national team duties to planning advanced training schedules — is all laying the groundwork for something special. It shows how collaboration, transparency, and passion can elevate the entire sport. And that, folks, is where the magic happens.

Thanks to leaders like President Tats Suzara of the PNVF and the entire PVL team, there’s a genuine commitment to balancing development, performance, and player well-being. The future of Philippine volleyball isn’t just bright — it’s blazing.

So whether you’re a long-time volleyball enthusiast or a newbie cheering from the sidelines, now’s the perfect time to dive in. Stay tuned, because the games — both club and international — are just getting started. Go, Alas Pilipinas!
